Welcome to Diffie’s basement! This is my first post. And everything you want to know is right here!

Why This Blog Exists

Hey folks! I’m Diffie, a soon-to-be grad student heading to Wake Forest University for accounting. Honestly, moving to the U.S. was kinda an impulsive decision—like, who wouldn’t get hyped after reading Shoe Dog or The Ride of a Lifetime and start daydreaming about conquering the world? (Ha!)

This blog is basically my two cents on two things:

1. Nerdy-but-fun stuff
I’m into accounting, but numbers are WAY more dramatic than they look:
☕️ Why does the Fed raising rates make my boba milk tea pricier? (Yes, I’ll explain macroeconomics with boba.)
📊 How do big companies magically make their financial reports look amazing? Spoiler: It’s not magic.
🤔 Oh, and occasional rants about why U.S. and Chinese accounting rules act like divorced parents.

2. Random life stuff
As someone who’s written 31+ articles and 9K+ views on WeChat (retired micro-influencer vibes), I love spotting weirdly relatable moments:
🎒 Like realizing “50% OFF” signs work the same magic in both Walmart and Chinese supermarkets…
📖 Or how studying blockchain accounting suddenly feels like reading a martial arts novel (plot twists included!).

Most importantly—
No fancy jargon here. Just real talk. If you:
✅ Wonder how money secretly runs the world
✅ Think accounting ≠ boring (or want me to convince you it’s not)
✅ Enjoy watching a Chinese student juggle fried chicken cravings and Excel spreadsheets

Let’s chat! Because…

“Reading financial reports alone is tragic. But dissecting them with strangers? That’s a comedy show.”

(P.S. A rant about U.S. grocery prices is coming soon. Brace yourselves.)
