Why This Corner of the Internet Exists

Hey everyone, I’m Diffie. By day (and most nights), I’m a grad accounting student at Wake Forest University, deep in the trenches of CPA prep. Moving here to chase this goal was a leap, but one I’m taking one textbook at a time.

This blog is my anchor and my outlet. It’s where I break down the real stuff:

  1. The CPA & Accounting Deep Dive
This is the main quest. I’m in the thick of it, and I’m bringing you along:
📘 Exam Tactics: What’s working, what’s not, and how to survive FAR without losing your mind.
🏛 From Theory to Practice: How do debits and credits translate into the actual language of business? Let’s decode it.
🔍 Beyond the Textbook: Why do auditors ask that? What does “professional skepticism” really look like? The stuff they don’t always spell out.
  2. The Journey in the Margins
The CPA path is a marathon, not a sprint. Here, I share the view from the road:
☕️ The Student Life: Juggling lectures, simulations, and trying to cook a meal that doesn’t come from a can.
🌉 Navigating Two Worlds: The subtle and not-so-subtle shifts between academic life in the U.S. and my roots in China.
💡 Lessons Learned: The small failures, the tiny victories, and the reminders of why this all matters.

Most importantly—
This is for anyone in the arena. If you:
✅ Are on the CPA path, thinking about it, or just curious what the fuss is about
✅ Believe understanding accounting is understanding how the world operates
✅ Appreciate a real, unfiltered look at the struggle and strategy behind professional growth

Welcome to my basement—a cozy corner of the internet where I write about CPA prep, accounting, and the life happening around it.

Most days, that means breaking down accounting rules in plain English. Other days, it’s sharing what life looks like as a grad student navigating school, work, basketball, and everything in between.

If you’re studying for the CPA, working in accounting, or just curious about how numbers and real life intersect—welcome! This is a space for learning, reflecting, and figuring things out as we go.
